imagine that stage backdrop combined with over 1000mcgs...constant vivid motion! And I mean CONSTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then the show, whoa nelly, my brain is still in orbit 36 years later. So much happened that night that I'm still trying to sort out, but I doubt I ever will. Like a moth before a flame.

There was a strange after affect that followed me around until 10/17/83 when the door closed...that was the last time I saw the "ship", the same one Phil and a bunch of us saw while driving between SLC and Red Rocks, we first ran into it a week after those Greek shows, out at Pelican Point at 2am, a real up close little look...I saw it that Friday Night as it came into the Greek Theater with the Close Encounters cloud formation...but was able to write it off due to my condition...not so with later sightings. I've got other UFO experiences with the GD. One that still freaks my wife out - she of the straight variety, so she can't write it off due to her condition and because of her presence neither could we, even though we had the condition.

That second set of 5/13 was fully 100% all about me - or so it seemed. My brain had jumped the tank and was running free and wild, going where the wind goes. Felt like a 1,000,000,000 watt light was shining out the top of my head. For the first set my brain was hiding in its foxhole until a mortar shell made a direct hit (thanks Phil) and blew it into a billion pieces. Every song was just exactly perfect for where I was at the time. A really long second set, so long that only one taper captured the final few minutes of Good Lovin', and it is the only Bobby version of Good Lovin' that I go back to specifically listen to, I think this is the one and only show I saw that the very last note of the night was the highest point of the encore! and then I staggered out into the Berkeley night...and got back in line for the next day's show.

In my little black book of shows I had written:

"the end of the beginning"

as my comment on that show.

Sunday's show was:

"Basic Human Change"

The life I live today started that Friday night.

And later in '83 I moved to Danbury CT

And caught the Stephen at the Garden.

Man I miss the Grateful Dead!

Well I listened to the 3 shows over 3 days and I liked them all. Last nights Sunday set two was a great topper, from a fine Spanish Space to the perfect encore . All good from start to finish each night from the same audience source. It seems a lot of the reviewers shared the experience with great and boundless energy.
Liked Saturday show a lot.
Some shows they were definitely up for.
It was a nice run, like a stingray on a three day ride.
